This really is one of those completely understated, yet simultaneously elegant instruments. Opening the case for the first time will make even the hardest to please gasp, and that's well before even hearing the first note. I was shocked at the clarity of this instrument; every note on every chord, no matter how complex the voicing, rings out incredibly clear and true. The Thornbuckers only help accentuate this and you end up with an incredibly versatile, incredible stunning guitar.

I think Suhr has knocked it out of the park with the Pete Thorn Signature Standard. Don't delay!

While prolific guitar sideman Pete Thorn may refer to himself as a “guitar nerd” – his resume proves he’s anything but. His effortless, dynamic playing have landed him onstage alongside such legendary artists as Don Henley, Chris Cornell and Melissa Etheridge among others — and his debut solo CD Guitar Nerd garnered critical praise and landed on CD Baby’stop selling albums list.

Pete has been a Suhr artist for over 10 years, and has previously partnered with Suhr to design and produce his signature PT100 amplifier and Thornbucker pickups. Now, we are debuting his Signature guitar at NAMM 2017. The guitar is based off of a custom spec Suhr Standard model that Pete has used extensively in the studio and on tour for the last two years. It’s equipped with Thornbucker pickups (with pickup rings, a first for Suhr) and a super comfortable and fast Even C Slim neck. This guitar is designed to be a sleek, versatile tone machine with a stunning yet understated look look that exudes class and rock and roll attitude.

The Pete Thorn Signature guitar features a Mahogany neck with an Indian Rosewood fingerboard. The neck is finished with our satin acrylic urethane, which provides the smooth feel of natural wood as well as protection from moisture.

A sleek take on the Classic design. The body is slightly downsized when compared to a Classic. It has a sharper radius on the edges and slightly longer horns to give it a modern, yet classy look.

The versatile HH pickup configuration features a 5-way mega switch, two Thornbucker pickups, a push/pull for parallel bridge, and a 510 tremolo.

The Gotoh 510 tremolo bridge features dual steel knife edge pivot points to provide greater functionality and years of trouble free performance. The 510’s steel block increases sustain and tuning stability.

Thornbucker pickups are born out of a desire to give guitarists a humbucking pickup set that has all of the best attributes of the coveted 50’s PAF pickups… with none of the downsides. Pete’s signature guitar is equipped with a Thornbucker neck and Thornbucker+ bridge pickup.

Equipped with staggered Suhr Locking Tuners, which provide an 18:1 gear ratio, improved tuning stability, and no need for a traditional string tree.

Every Pete Thorn model has his signature laser engraved on the back of the headstock.
