Harkening back to some of our favorite hod-rodded guitars of the 80's, this Modern T is meant for comfort, playability, and versatility - all in a familiar T-style package. The aldrich pickups in this one are hot and crispy, but remarkably clear, even under the most extreme amounts of gain you can throw at it. The release of the Modern T Pro marks the debut of an entirely new model for Suhr. Designed in conjunction with Andy Wood, the Modern T combines the 24 fret neck and sculpted heel joint of our Modern with the body shape of our Classic T, improving player comfort at the upper frets while preserving a more traditional design aesthetic.
The result of collaboration between John Suhr and rock guitarist extraordinaire Doug Aldrich, the Aldrich humbuckers are the ultimate high-output pickups for aggressive rock style of playing. The Aldrich bridge humbucker is now our highest output pickup but it oozes tone across its sound spectrum.
It’s big sounding yet focused and punchy in the mids and tight in the lows. You will never hear this pickup get flubby and undefined in the highest gain settings. The high-mids will cut through like the sharpest knife but the treble will be sweet and never grating on the ears. From chunky low-string metal riffing to screaming string bends in the high register, the Aldrich bridge humbucker covers them all while retaining the dynamics of your picking attack.
