Condition: Used, Excellent
Note: Comes with rarely-seen Carrying Case
This oft forgotten tube microphone is a cousin of the original C37A. Unlike some of the other Sony C series mics from this era, the C57 has incredible smoothness and depth. This microphone has amazing utility as a vocal microphone, but it also shines on drums and percussive instruments. With a switchable polar pattern, the C57 also acts as an amazing room microphone.
The original CP-3 Tube power supply that comes with this microphone is equipped with a soft high-freqency cut, as well as a four position bass roll-off switch. Each selection rounds out different low freqencies best suited for voice (V1, V2) and musical instruments (M1, M2). These EQ options add to the uniqueness of these 60's era C series microphones.
Sony's C57 fills a unique spot in every engineers mic locker. Finding one in such amazing condition is incredibly rare.
