What We Think

This is a 1979 Slingerland Modern Jazz drum set with a 14x20, 8x12, and 14x14 configuration. It is here on consignment and is one of the cleanest vintage sets that we have seen in a while.. These are the 5 ply shells with gloss interiors and signed "KH 12/79".

Serial numbers are :

bass drum - 402886

rack tom - 402389

floor tom - 402307

The Black Diamond Pearl finish has yellowed slightly but appears to be even. The seams are tight on the drums and shows no signs of bubbling or lifting. All of the parts appear to be original, and the chrome is in overall great condition showing little to no signs of pitting. There are no extra holes or modifications that were done to the set. The rack tom and the floor tom each have the stick saver hoops and the single tom holder is included. The bass drum hoops appear to have the original paint and only has a little bit of bass pedal rash. The inlays, like the wrap on the rest of the set, is tight and shows no sign of lifting or separating.
