Sound Pure's Take
While many short scale basses on today's market are being marketed towards guitar players looking to make the jump, the Midwestern shines as a true bass player's bass! In handsome Aged Walnut and Tortoise, you get everything that comes with a 30" scale instrument; a rounder more fundamental tone, a neck so easy to navigate you can only describe it as "fun!" to play, and a light, travelable, manageable 4-stringer! All the while, sacrificing none of the things we bass players hold dear. The feel is tight and responsive with none of that low tension wobble or tonal mud and the B90 pickup might be our new favorite coil for bass; punchy, full, dynamic, and versatile. Whether you're looking to scale down from a 34" scale bass or up from guitar, you are sure to fall in love with this mighty little bass!
From Serek Basses
The Midwestern is a short-scale powerhouse that is compact in size, but does not lack in tone. Think P-bass meets EB-0. The Midwestern is made up of a lightweight Mahogany body and a 30.5″ scale Mahogany set neck making it effortless to play, and easy to travel with. Inspired by vintage Midwest-bred designs, this is our simplest and most utilitarian offering. However, updated with modern hardware and electronics as well as effortless playability, you won’t believe this is just a humble short scale bass!
