What We Think

We absolutely love the sound and feel of Jake's single-pickup instruments, and if you're gonna have just one pickup, why not make it a Lazen-B90? Utilizing the series-parallel push-pull control, this one pickup can take you anywhere from big, wooly thump to more cutting mid focused bite. The proportions of these basses are abolutely perfect, just enough neck and body to stay balanced and provide sustain, but slim enough to really give your back and hands a welcome break!

The Midwestern 2 takes a more modern approach than its sibling, the original Midwestern bass. Updates include a sleek new design with body contours and a lower cutaway for full access to 21 frets. The Midwestern 2 is made up of a lightweight Mahogany body and the same 30.5″ scale Mahogany set neck found on the Midwestern. This bass can also be made in 32” scale, and with either 4 or 5 strings for those looking to extend their sonic range. Pickup options are endless, but I find this bass tends to enjoy a more versatile, 2-pickup configuration such as our Serek Singles!
