From Schoeps Microphones
The Desert Island Boom Set combines the three SCHOEPS essentials that a production sound mixer needs on any job, packed into a single Peli Case. The CMC 1 U microphone amplifier, the MK 41 supercardioid capsule and the KMIT shotgun capsule cover both indoor and outdoor dialogue recording without compromise.
The set reflects how boom operators actually work. Indoors, the MK 41 delivers the controlled pickup pattern and natural sound character that dialogue recording demands. Its polar pattern is exceptionally consistent across the frequency spectrum: sounds from the side and rear are strongly attenuated, but picked up without coloration. Outdoors, the KMIT provides the additional directivity needed on location. Derived directly from the CMIT series, it offers the same acoustical qualities: high directivity combined with low coloration of lateral-incident sound. Switching between capsules takes seconds.
At the core of the set is the CMC 1 U, the compact Colette amplifier that matches or exceeds the electrical performance of the CMC 6 in about one-third the length. As a Colette-series product, the Desert Island Boom Set is also a starting point: the CMC 1 U accepts any MK capsule, so users can expand their collection without replacing the amplifier.
All components come in the CMIT's signature blue finish. The Desert Island Boom Set joins the Desert Island Stereo Set in the Desert Island family.
