Sound Pure's Take
You could describe the VS4 and the way we love it with the same three words, plain and simple. To our knowledge, Sandberg is one of the only builders tying a single split-coil pickup to an active preamp, and it's an absolute revelation! Thanks to this marriage, these VS4's are quite possibly the most versatile single-pickup basses we've had the pleasure to play. With the ability to defeat the preamp, roll off the tone and do that thick thump or boost the lows and highs, (effectly scooping the usual midrange growl) and opening up far more modern tones you'd never expect out of a P-bass. And at this price point the VS4 outplays and outclasses every competitor!
