What We Think

Condition: Used, Very Good

The round, full, tubby tone of a semi-hollow shortscale bass is a sound all its own. While most you'll find in this class usually feature somewhat woody mid-focused pickups, the Dub King, with a split-coil and a humbucker, has oomph and power to provide more low-end rumble while still offering up plenty of clarity. With a rectangular hardshell case no longer avaiable from Reverend!

SP Luthier Notes: Setup

Manufacturer's Description from Reverend

The Dub King produces the thick, deep tone you'd expect from a short scale neck and semi-hollow body. But unlike most basses of this type, it has excellent clarity and sustain thanks to the five-piece neck and string-thru-body bridge with locking saddles. You can even solo the Split Brick neck pickup for super deep thump, and the split pole design keeps it focused. The pan control allows you to blend between the bridge and neck pickups using only one knob, so dialing in your tone is quick and easy.

Reverend Guitars

About Manufacturer

Reverend is the brainchild of Joe Naylor. Joe's decades of formal training and hands-on experience, along with our small, highly skilled staff ensures that Reverend delivers the goods:

TONE - Great design makes for great sounding gear. We have a deep respect for (and extensive knowledge of) fine vintage equipment. At Reverend, those sensibilities come together with design innovation that satisfies the most discriminating players.

STYLE - Reverend guitars are an extension of your musical individuality, a unique voice in a sea of clones.

VALUE - We put extensive research and development into our products to raise the level of performance. That is why Reverend products are often compared performance-wise to gear costing several times more.

SERVICE - A product is only as good as the people who stand behind it. Reverend service is legendary. Why?...because our philosophy is simple: treat customers the same way we'd want to be treated.
