From Other (Miscellanous Used/Vintage/Consign)
Designed to provide reference quality reproduction for music recording and mixing, film and television post production, mastering, and multi channel surround sound applications, the VS2108 offers new levels of accuracy in commercial and home monitoring environments.
Developed to meet the demanding requirements of the most critical audio professional, all Quested products are designed to offer uncompromising sonic accuracy, low distortion, and industry-leading phase response. Users worldwide have come to trust Quested as the monitor of choice for those who desire honest program reproduction without any unrealistic or flattering embellishments to the program material.
The VS2108 monitor features a custom designed 200mm (8") high excursion bass driver that boasts a dual rear suspension offering exceptional transient response and low distortion even at high listening levels. The HF unit is a ferrofluid-damped 28mm soft dome tweeter. It’s wide dispersion characteristics offer a large usable listening area, and eliminates the need for any unnecessary waveguide or horn-loading techniques that negatively affect phase response and increase unwanted distortion. Enclosure construction is extremely rigid offering minimal panel resonance.
The front baffle and walls are manufactured using a 22mm MDF. The Quested design team features over 60 years of cumulative engineering experience combining industry-recognised experts in acoustics and electronic design. With specialists in speaker components, electronic crossover design, amplification, and system integration, Quested engineers have combined electronics and loudspeakers into a perfectly matched, close-coupled package. The VS2108 features a fully bi-amplified system with an output of 210 watts RMS giving a huge amount of headroom. The filtering and crossover functions are precisely tailored to the requirements of the cabinet and drivers and use only high performance “audiophile” circuit design and component selection. The power supply section and amplifier output stages have been over-specified by greater than 200%, resulting in solid and continuous performance and absolute reliability. Full thermal protection and front mounted clip indication ensure that damage will not occur from accidental or continuous abuse.
Full magnetic shielding is an option allowing the VS2108 to be used adjacent to video or data monitors. A user selectable LF EQ switch allows an extended bass setting as well as a roll off position for integration with the optional VS1112 or VS1115 sub.
There is also a 3 position HF EQ switch to compensate for room conditions or personal preference. An 18 position rotary switch allows input sensitivity adjustment from –18dBu to 0dBu in 2dBu steps.
