The 4.5" shell depth combined with the 8-lug configuration has a broad tuning range and delivers a focused and crisp tone but with a nice dryness, you won't find in most metal drums. The added strength of the maple reinforcing rings raises the higher tunings while giving moreto the lower tunings.
