The PRS Custom 24 has gained its fair share of notoriety and praise throughout the years, and this beautifully flame topped Black Cherry baby shows off why. Commonly referred to as the best mass produced guitar on the planet, this particular Custom 24 has won over the hearts of the SoundPure staff.
Gorgeous aesthetics are to be expected from a PRS, and this guitar is no exception. A tasteful wood binding on the 1-piece flame maple 10-top comes off as classy and sexy at the same time. Beautiful bird inlays on the pattern thin neck catch your eye immediately while the smooth contours of the body show off all details of the finish.
The sound is both exceptional and versatile. With 5 way switching and two beefy 2 humbuckers, easily achieves sound from clean and spanky Strat to vintage Les Paul. While mostly geared towards rock and blues, this guitar has the capabilities of exploring any and all genres of music with ease.
As far as playability is concerned: smooth as ice. Everything from arpeggiated sweeps to bar chords sound articulate and clear as far up as the fret board allows - a rarity in most guitars.
The Custom 24 is the quintessential PRS guitar. This iconic instrument was the first model that Paul Reed Smith brought to the public at PRS Guitars’ first Winter NAMM show in 1985 and has been a top seller ever since.
