Sound Pure's Take
Since their inception, Porter and Davies have been improving their tactile monitoring systems giving gigging drummers the missing piece to monitors. The BC Gigster is the lightweight version of the Gigster.
Setting up the Gigster involves plugging a mic or line out into the input socket and connecting the throne to the engine unit with the supplied Speakon cable. After that, you simply set the Input Gain and Low Contour levels before turning the Master Volume up until you can feel the bass drum.
The beauty of this system is that it works in real-time. No lag and all performance. If you're looking for a monitoring system that can capture all of your bass drumand then some, experience what tactile monitoring can do for your drums with the Porter & Davies BC Gigster.

Theory
Most of the sound we hear reaches our ears via airborne vibrations, like those produced by acoustic instruments and loudspeakers. However, there are four additional pathways through which we perceive acoustic energy, all of which fall into the category of tactile sound. These additional pathways include:
- Deep tissue and muscle mass (“Kinesthetic”)
- Skeletal joints (“Haptic”)
- Skin sensation (sense of touch)
- Bone conduction (skull to cochlea transmission)
