Sound Pure's Take
Pork Pie has garnered a world-class reputation for their versatile and solidly-built maple snare drums, and this 6.5x14 snare in Ginger Glass Glitter is no exception. Maple is an incredibly versatile tonewood; its frequency response tends to favor lower-end while maintaining an overall balance of sound, making it well suited for just about any style of music. The thin, 8-ply all-maple shell works in tandem with 45-degree bearing edges to produce a full, resonant tone in lower tunings, and a crisp, articulate pop in higher tunings. The shell and bearing edge combination also increase this drum’s sensitivity; dynamically-minded players will love the sensitive stick response this drum allows for. Consummated with a classic yet timeless Ginger Glass Glitter wrap, this drum fits in across a wide range of styles and aesthetics.
