What We Think

As part of the expanding PDP Concept Series, the Concept Classic Series is re-imagined with retro looks and wood hoops at entry-level pricing. The Concept Classic Series utilize all-maple shells and maple ply hoops which feature low-mass pressed steel claws to help tie in that vintage vibe. Attention to detail is everything, so each claw has a small piece of felt fixed to the inside to help protect the surface of the maple hoops. The classic wood hoops deliver a smooth calfskin-like tonality and can be tuned up or down for a variety of musical situations making them perfect for live or session work.

Currently offered in two matte finishes, the build and finish complement everything that DW and PDP are trying to achieve, with the quality that you've come to expect from both of these companies.

It’s called the Concept Series and it has a fresh new look and a sound that already has drummers talking. Choose from Concept Maple or Concept Birch shells in a myriad of today’s most popular configurations. Then, add toms or bass drums to build custom-style kits to suit just about every musical style. Add to that, high-end features like STM (Suspension Tom Mounts), True Pitch tension rods, MAG throw-off, die cast low-mass claw hooks, proportionate counter hoops and durable lacquer finishes, and you have a kit that unquestionably lives up to its DW roots.

About Manufacturer

Pacific Drums and Percussion (or PDP for short) is a division company under Drum Workshop established in the year 2000 to provide high-quality drum equipment to those unable to afford the higher prestige and quality Drum Workshop equipment. Pacific Drums and Percussion also manufactures drum hardware and accessories. Their factory is located in Oxnard, California. The line still uses some custom techniques, but primarily uses computerized machinery to cut costs and reduce steps to create high-quality drums in large quantities.
