What We Think

Another beauty from Nik Huber. His instruments never cease to amaze us. The Brazilian Rosewood board on this one is striking! The Dolphin is so ergonomic and lightweight. What a joy to pick up!

Manufacturer's Description from Nik Huber

The unadulterated "form follows function" design principle makes the Dolphin a true "players" choice. Perfectly balanced, ergonomically shaped - a commitment to sound, tone and playability.

The solid mahogany body and neck construction, a maple top and the 25 1/2" scale gives the player the unique combination of instant attack and endless sustain.

The pickups are exclusively handmade for the Dolphin by H. H?ussel. Designed to bring out the best in the guitar, they respond perfectly to the given input. Unlike many ?hot-wired? pickups, the tone is formed by the player, not by the coil.

The bridge is the link between body and strings and connects the player with the pickups and the amp. Any loss of contact here will result in a loss of tone. And the more parts you use for the bridge, the greater the loss. So the number of parts in our bridge has been reduced to the minimum - we start carving it from a single piece of aluminum. Tricky to handle, but worth the effort.

Even the smallest detail of the Dolphin is well thought out and executed affectionately.

Like the unique shape of our neck-joint, which gives you easier access to the higher frets. Or the wooden back-plate, which is a vital detail for everybody who does not want to see a cheap piece of plastic anywhere on a guitar of this class.

And when it comes to choosing the hardware for our dolphin, we like to keep things very simple: Only the best! Like the Schaller M6 Mini Tuners. Light and solid.
