The XSIII is an 85 watt beast. What makes it unique, besides the exclusive Mercury Magnetics output transformer, is the TWO Gain controls on the Hi-Gain Channel. One is set up for Bright Crunch and the other for Fat Drive, allowing you to tailor the tightness and fullness, giving it wide flexibility. This amp can be smooth or aggressive! The Clean/Grind channel can do just what it says - making a full bore cranked stack character or a sweet clean - your choice. Described this way - ''it's got some sponge ... not stiff or strident ... but at the same time super tight on the bottom end ... super open .. but compresses perfectly at the same time ... it is aggressive but also warm and sweet in the overdrive''.
