Handheld condensor microphone designed by David Royer
$699.00
The Mojave MA-C brings true studio-grade condenser sound to the stage. Designed by David Royer, it delivers the clarity, depth, and natural vocal response engineers expect from a high-end studio microphone, paired with the durability and control required for live performance.
At the heart of the MA-C is a precision-manufactured condenser capsule voiced for vocals. The result is a focused, articulate sound with excellent intelligibility and musical detail, even in loud stage environments. A tight cardioid pattern provides strong rejection of rearward sound while maintaining a natural, consistent response as the performer moves, helping vocals stay present and controlled in the mix.
Built-in pop protection and extremely low handling noise make the MA-C comfortable and forgiving for handheld use. It handles very high sound pressure levels without strain, making it equally at home on powerful singers and demanding instruments.
While the MA-C is designed primarily as a handheld vocal microphone, its wide dynamic range and high SPL capability make it a versatile stage tool. Engineers frequently use it on drums, percussion, brass, acoustic guitar, and guitar cabinets, especially when clarity and transient detail matter.
The MA-C also performs exceptionally well outside of live sound. Because it is optimized for close-mic placement and offers strong rejection of room ambience, it is an excellent choice for home recording, podcasting, and broadcast applications, particularly in untreated rooms where controlling reflections is critical.
Unscrew the capsule to access the onboard –15 dB pad and low-cut switch, allowing quick adjustments without external hardware.
Like every Mojave microphone, the MA-C is built for real singers. It is a microphone designed to reward good technique, capture nuance, and hold together under pressure, whether on a quiet acoustic stage or a loud, full band performance.
Additional Features
David Royer started Mojave Audio in 1985 in the garage of his house. The location was Fullerton, California, and Mojave Audio was a one-man, custom pro audio gear shop. David is best known for his ribbon microphone designs with Royer Labs, but he originally started out designing and building vacuum tube microphones, mic pre's and compressors for engineers in the Los Angeles area. Since the mid 1990's, Davidýs custom Mojave products have been used on a number of well-known recordings and have achieved legendary status among a small circle of high-end engineers. With the launching of Mojave Audio, we are able to bring David's non-ribbon designs to the world.
