Sound Pure's Take

Condition: Used, Very Good

As always, Michael Tuttle's craftsmanship is unparalleled and this guitar shows the full range of his abilities, both in terms of physical artisanry and tonal artisanry. The combination of a lightly flamed maple top, Madagascar rosewood fingerboard, and Tuttle's industry-leading fretwork really sets this guitar apart from anything else out there. They don't call him 'Best Frets" for nothing!

When we first got this guitar, we plugged it in and were FLOORED. Think the big, bold sounds of a 335-style guitar without the low-end muddiness common in your typical semi-hollow. And when we realized it arrived tuned a full-step down, once we tuned it up to standard...HOLY COW. That big, bold sound tightened up even more with a ton of sparkle and clarity.. He really spared no expense in putting this one together.

This guitar is pre-owned but is in near-mint condition. It shows the tiniest, most imperceptible wear near the picking area, but other than that it looks pristine. This is your chance to own a gorgeous piece of modern luthiery at a steal of a price.

From Michael Tuttle Guitars

For the past two decades Michael has specialized in the fine art of what it takes to make a piece of wood feel good. Michael makes the necks feel like they're a part of your hands from the moment you pick them up.

Michael Tuttle's background includes stints with Valley Arts and Don Grosh Guitars, where, among other things, he gained a reputation for his fretwork. As a guitar player for the last 30 years, the transition from a professional musician to guitar builder has been a valuable asset to his company. He built his first guitar in the early 80's and in 1993 started building guitars commercially. After 10 years of honing the art of guitar building working for other organizations it was time to start out on his own. Michael Tuttle Guitars began in 2003. His unique craftsmanship and quality are unparalleled. Once you've played a Tuttle you'll know!
