Sometimes you just know that you and your wallet are in trouble just by looking at a drum. This heartbreaker of a drum is a Metro 6x13 Ironbark ply snare drum finished with a gorgeous Rosewood outer veneer and natural gloss.
The shell is beautifully finished inside and out with 45º bearing edges which deliver a clean and precise note. This drum is configured with 16 plies of Ironbark without reinforcing rings which have a shell thickness of about 3/8" thick. The Ironbark combined with the 13" diameter delivers "crack" and "pop" that will leave your bass player squinting all night with each snare drum hit.
This snare drum has eight heavy double-ended tube lugs. They are heavier than traditional tube lugs but add a nice and subtle compression to the shell that minimizes some overtones.
