Master builder Paul Warry and founder of Metro Drum Company has been creating some of Australia's finest handcrafted drums for over twenty years now. Using a variety of timbers from all over Australia, one does not have to go far to discover drum sounds unlike anything produced in the United States.
This 8 lug beauty fuses the big sound of Blackbutt combined with a 16 ply shell without any loss of precision and articulation. The slightly thicker shell, the 7" shell depth, and the harder properties of the Blackbutt wood produce a fullness and focus throughout the spectrum of tuning possibilities. Backbeats and ghosting are equally voiced from the 45-degree bearing edges and shallow snare beds. Press rolls are sensitive and wide open from the center to the edges making this diverse drum really fun to play. No detail was spared as you will find ABS washers on the tension rods to protect your hoops, a Dunnett multi-step throw-off for easy snare sensitivity settings, and a glass-like gloss finish to complete the package.
