What We Think

The Mesa Boogie Mark V 25 is an absolutely incredible amp, and to be quite frank, it's our favorite Mesa Boogie amp over here at SoundPure.

Two channels, six modes and seemingly endless possibilities are at the tip of your fingers with this Mark V 25. Channel 1 starts off with Clean, Fat Clean and Crunch voicings to enable virtually every clean tone imaginable with ease. Everything from robust and rounded low-end to tight and punchy, pronounced mid-range to a focused and powerful mid-scoop, almost anything you can hear in your head can be dialed in with this amp. The mid control on channel 1 also functions as a mid boost for those searing hot solos that need just a little more "oomph" to them.

The second channel is everything focused and high-gain tackled into 3 separate voicings. With voicings from the MK IIC+ LEAD tone, to MK IV, to the scorching hot MK V 6L6, everyone from your classic rocker to full on metalhead will be satisfied with the gain on tap.

With all tube spring reverb on both channels, a buffered FX loop and assignable multi-watt power, the icing on the cake is the 5-band graphic EQ. Being the very last thing to hit the signal before coming out of your amp, the interactive and user-friendly EQ makes dialing in that exact tone effortless. With a cab clone built into the back for easy use in any live or studio situation, there's no reason to not make the Mark V 25 your main amplifier whether you're an engineer, gigging musician, or just the everyday guitarist!

Manufacturer's Description from Mesa Boogie

The MARK FIVE: 25™ is born of thoroughbred stock that carries worldwide accolades and is still setting trends with top Artists 35 years after its unveiling. The MARK FIVE: 25, like the MARK FIVE it is born from, is really a collection of iconic amplifiers. There are far too many circuits and sounds to think of it as merely an amp... it’s a living history of MESA/Boogie!

From the groundbreaking MARK I that introduced the world to high-gain with it’s cascading preamp, to the Mark II - the world’s first high gain Dual Mode Channel Switching amplifier (and it’s later siblings that introduced Simul-Classpower). From the MARK III that ushered in the era of 3 Channel footswtching performance, to the MARK IV which gave all that power individual control, the MARK FIVE (and now the FIVE: 25) is the embodiment of the last 45 years of guitar amp evolution.

About Manufacturer

Forty-five years and thousands of satisfied customers later, MESA/Boogie® Ltd. hand-builds the fifth generational offspring of that pivotal amplifier (and many more) now known around the globe as the MARK I Boogie®; the world’s first high gain, high power, compact 1x12 amplifier. That revolutionary little combo is the “missing link” in amp design... the pivotal nexus between Vintage and Modern guitar amplifiers. When it comes to amplified guitar, there’s really just two epochs… before Boogie, and after Boogie.
