The Mesa Mark III has built a reputation for itself over the years as 'The Voice of The 80's". A good portion of the sounds you hear were coming from the widely popular Mark series, and more often than not, they came from the Mark III itself. One of the first popular 3 channel amplifiers, the Mark III revolutionized the presence of multi-channel amplifiers both live and on stafe. Channels 1 and 2 are your clean and crunch channels, with massive headroom to enable those chiming airy cleans at all volumes. With the pre's pushed you start to get a good saturated crunch reminiscent of yesteryear's rock rhythms. Channel 3 on the Mark III is not for the faint of heart - with enough gain on tap to be comparable to a Rectifier series amp. That tight bottom end and mid-range that'll punch you in the throat seem to sing and cut through the mix with ease. Crank up the volume and get that wooly saturation that never loses it's articulation. The Mark III is an incredible amplifier with the capacity to cover many different genres's of music, all executed wonderfully.
Forty-five years and thousands of satisfied customers later, MESA/Boogie® Ltd. hand-builds the fifth generational offspring of that pivotal amplifier (and many more) now known around the globe as the MARK I Boogie®; the world’s first high gain, high power, compact 1x12 amplifier. That revolutionary little combo is the “missing link” in amp design... the pivotal nexus between Vintage and Modern guitar amplifiers. When it comes to amplified guitar, there’s really just two epochs… before Boogie, and after Boogie.
