Sound Pure's Take
The unexpected often turns out to be the most inspiring--that was certainly my experience with this uniquely wonderful guitar! If you don't know already, McPhersons are categorically stunning for their flawless intonation across the entire neck, seemingly sound-engineered note separation, and superlative tonewoods, no matter the model. But the powerful and relatively uncommon combination of Port Orford Cedar and Madagascar Rosewood immediately grabbed my attention--I found myself launching into a tune I'd never played before the moment I picked it up! The brooding, miles-deep bass and shimmering treble offered by the Maddy can be thrust forward or only hinted at thanks to the sensitivity the Cedar brings to the build--flatpickers and fingerstylists will hear that immediately. The Cedar also reigns in some of the cascading overtones that the Madagascar is known for, cleaning up the overall sound and leaving plenty of sonic room for subtle variations in harmony and right hand attack. The possibilities are endless on a McPherson--with this particular piece you'll find yourself more ready than ever to explore them!

From McPherson Guitars
More than three decades ago, McPherson revolutionized the acoustic guitar world by introducing a unique Offset Soundhole Technology. This breakthrough design increased the total flexible surface area on the central part of the instrument.
Since then, we have continued to be a pioneer in the marketplace with our state-of-the-art bracing, cantilevered neck, and soundhole design.
When asked the question, “Why do you play a McPherson guitar?”, some might answer it’s the superior craftsmanship or the stability of the neck. Some might say it’s the innovative design or the inspiration it brings to the performer. But without a doubt, they will all agree it’s the sound of the McPherson guitar that sets it apart from the crowd. The rich, full tone and clarity of the McPherson guitar is like no other. Once you pick one up, you will never want to put it down.
A Marriage of Craftsmanship and Creativity
“To our friends who already are proud owners – a heartfelt thanks – to potential new customers, a warm invite to consider one of the finest high-end instruments money can buy, a McPherson guitar. Obviously, a catalog can only tell you so much, that’s why we urge you to get to a McPherson dealer and experience one for yourself. Not only will you see “old school” craftsmanship and detail, you’ll begin to understand the revolutionary thinking and innovative design that went into improving playability, tone and sustain.”
