Sound Pure's Take

A whole lotta guitar! This is the kind of guitar that you can really scare your friends with by sneaking up behind them and playing an open G chord. From a player's perspective, the full 5" body and offset soundhole give you an incredibly detailed, full sound that almost feels like the guitar has its own monitor system. Few guitars I've ever heard can come close to this level of overtone content and sustain, and if you are looking for an instrument that can take a simple chord or melody and bring it to life, this is it! The richness of the harmonic content and the sheer volume and sustain of this instrument make it feel like an orchestra in your hands. Try it for yourself and you'll see what I mean!

Port Orford Cedar

Despite its name, Port Orford Cedar is a member of the cypress family and not a true cedar. It falls tonally between spruce and cedar, leaning toward a warm spruce top in sound and stiffness.

Koa

A member of the acacia family, Koa grows only in Hawaii. Flamed Koa is a gorgeous tonewood displaying some "Mahogany like" properties. Clean and bright with a rich low end.

McPherson Guitars are well known for their innovative designs, stunning aesthetics, and superior sound quality, and the 5.0 Koa/Port Orford Cedar is no exception. Though it can be deceiving in name, Port Orford Cedar is actually a member of the Cypress family, and provides a really warm, Spruce-like top tone. Koa provides some really rich low end, sparkling clean tone, and is only grown in Hawaii, making its' unique look and sound that much more exclusive. The 5.0 really is an incredible example of the sheer volume and sustain that McPherson Guitars present with their groundbreaking Offset Soundhole Technology. There are few other acoustic guitars on the market that can replicate the richness of harmonic content, volume and sustain that the 5.0 Koa/Port Orford Cedar from McPherson offers.
