Combining classic Martin dreadnought power with striking tone woods, the D-13E Retro Walnut pairs a solid spruce top treated with Aging Toner under a full-gloss finish with rich solid black walnut back and sides. Built with a 25.4" scale length, its select hardwood neck is shaped to a comfortable Performing Artist profile with a High-Performance Taper, carrying a 20-fret ebony fingerboard with 28-style faux mother-of-pearl dot inlays and a 1 3/4" White Corian nut. Traditional accents include white body binding, multi-stripe top purfling, a Style 28 Boltaron rosette, a faux tortoise pickguard, open-gear nickel tuners with butterbean knobs, and an ebony belly bridge with a white TUSQ saddle. Tipping the scales at 4 lbs 6 oz, this stage-ready dreadnought includes a padded softshell case.

It features a solid spruce top and solid black walnut back and sides in a gloss finish for rich sustain, strong bass, and clear, balanced tone. Walnut—known locally as “Pennsylvania rosewood”—adds warmth and tonal complexity that rival more traditional tonewoods. The Dreadnought body and scalloped X-bracing deliver bold projection and dynamic response, while the Performing Artist neck with high-performance taper ensures smooth playability. Style 28-inspired visual appointments nod to iconic Martin design, and with versatile E1 electronics, a built-in tuner, and a softshell case, this guitar is built for players who know where they’re headed—and need the right tool to take them there.
