Sound Pure's Take

We fell in love with this finish the very first time we saw it, it's been a shop favorite out there in Murfreesboro too! Paired with Mario's expert relic work and a lovely looking 1-piece roasted maple neck, this S-style has the dark aged quality of a well-loved, endlessly played instrument. We went all in replacing all three standard single-coils with Lollar Gold Foil pickups. These supremely rich, clear, touch responsive coils put the 'Deep' in this 'Deep Lake Placid Blue' wonder from our friends in Murfreesboro!

From Mario Guitars

When the S-style was first released in late 1950s, it was designed with comfort in mind.  The T-style had already been released and many people complained of the discomfort it presented with its hard round overs and slab body.  Thus, the S-style with its contours and curves came to the rescue!

Since then, the S-style has become an American icon. Possibly one of the most recognizable electric guitar shapes, S-styles have graced the shoulders of Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and many, many more!
