Sound Pure's Take

This guitar was years in the making and it was well worth the wait. Dreamt up by our guitar team and Mr. Martin, this pet project took on a near mythical quality around the offices at Sound Pure. The result of a mountain of research, refinement, expertise, and plain old craftsmanship shines out in this truly one-of-a-kind instrument. The neck pickup on it's own is poweful and precise. The Strings-Through bridge pickup has the cut and sustain that truly cries out. In the middle position, thanks to the idiosyncratic nature of these particular coils, throws the top three strings out of phase for rich root notes and squawking, howling leads! We have no doubt this will not be the last Cooder-S Mario builds, but we couldn't be happier or prouder that we got the first!

Mario Martin Guitars Coodercaster Sunburst Electric - Quick 'n' Dirty

From Mario Guitars

When the S-style was first released in late 1950s, it was designed with comfort in mind.  The T-style had already been released and many people complained of the discomfort it presented with its hard round overs and slab body.  Thus, the S-style with its contours and curves came to the rescue!

Since then, the S-style has become an American icon. Possibly one of the most recognizable electric guitar shapes, S-styles have graced the shoulders of Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and many, many more!
