As a predecessor to the legendary Supraphonic, Ludwig's original Chrome over Brass Snare Drums enjoyed a popular, yet limited production run in the 1960's. Now, Ludwig has revisited this classic snare drum design with a Chrome Over Brass Edition Supraphonic. Awesomely sensitive with loads of crisp tone, this 5x14 Snare Drum can fit in with just about any style of music from jazz to rock to pop. This used drum came to us in good condition, with the usual signs of play wear on the factory-original heads. Some minor tarnishing can be observed inside the shell, as can be expected with brass snare drums, but there are no signs of pitting on the hardware or chrome-plated shell. The throwoff action feels a bit rough at times and seems to need a bit of an adjustment, but the lugs and tension rods are wonderfully smooth.

Often imitated, never duplicated, Ludwig snare drums have been the industry standard since 1911. The tradition and quality continues on today better than ever with a sound that could only be Ludwig.
