What We Think

It's hard to rival the quality of a Ludwig metal snare drum, and the addition of brass to their Heirloom series further cements their place near the top of drum making. This 5.5x14 version is constructed with a thin 1mm brass shell that, when tuned to a medim-high tension, sings with a full-bodied fundamental note and classic crack. This snare has a bit more sensitivity than its 7x14 cousin, making it well-suited for genres ranging from classic rock to jazz to funk and R&B.
