Louder Than Liftoff 1-Track Tape Emulator Pair - Used  From Other

1-TRACK is a 500 series module that combines analog tape emulation and discrete transformer-coupled mojo for a sonic experience that harkens back to a time when behemoth tape decks and recording consoles ruled.  Unlike like other hardware or software tape emulations, this one avoids tweaky controls in pursuit of achieving useful results quickly.  Record level controls the amount of tape saturation.  The output knob sets the level hitting the following MOJO stage. The single-knob EMPHASIS EQ can be placed before or after the tape emulation for effortless tone shaping pre or post-tape. The signal lastly passes through an American console MOJO stage, powered by our Mass Drivr module.  Each of the three processors can be individually bypassed.  In the spirit of all Louder Than Liftoff gear, 1-TRACK gives you intuitive results especially when used in your tracking chain prior to the first pass of A/D conversion.

TAPE EMULATION

Fully analog tape emulation has eluded many for years. Built upon our meticulously designed TAPE•C module, 1-TRACK finally delivers the sonic nuances of real tape decks. The emulation was inspired by hot-rodded Studer and MCI decks from Brad's personal studio. This is a design which combines the frequency response, phase shift, harmonic distortion, and transient softening we adore about tape without any of the calibration, maintenance, or noise floor frustrations.  

Increase the tape saturation by turning up input gain via the REC LVL knob.  Adjust the OUT knob to control the level hitting the MOJO stage and the next piece of gear in your chain.

CONSOLE MOJO

No legitimate tape emulation would be complete without a discrete console-style signal path. Powered by our popular Mass Drivr module, the MOJO pushbutton engages a classic American console circuit topology after the tape emulation.

The MOJO circuit features our Rogue Six discrete op amp driving a harmonically rich made-in-USA transformer for just the right amount of girth, grit, and punch.

EMPHASIS EQ

Tune the frequency response and vibe of the tape emulation with the intuitive single-knob EMPHASIS EQ. Simultaneously push and pull the high and low frequencies while maintaining constant loudness. Turn right to push the midrange forward. Turn left to make the sound warmer and silkier. Internal jumpers can be set for an alternate midrange frequency response.   

The TEXTURE switch changes the character of the tape response by altering the interaction of EMPHASIS with the tape emulation.
