What We Think

Finished in a Light Relic Sonic Blue nitrocellulose lacquer, this John Page DL Guitar is a masterfully crafted, boutique double-cutaway that effortlessly blends vintage Fender heritage with modern custom engineering. Hand-built in the USA and weighing a light 7 pounds 5 ounces, its resonant alder body is joined to a signature Medium C maple neck using Page's rigid machine screw and threaded insert mounting system to maximize sustain and mechanical transfer. The playing experience is fluid and immediate, featuring a comfortable 12-inch radius rosewood fingerboard, 22 nickel silver frets, and John Page's custom string tree up top. Sonically, this model delivers massive versatility through an un-traditional trio of custom-wound pickups—dual Bloodline JP-3P P90s paired with a reverse-angled JP-3T Tele bridge pickup—controlled by a 5-way switch that offers hum-canceling in combined positions. Outfitted with Mustang knobs, a parchment pearloid pickguard, Kluson staggered vintage tuners, and a custom T-style bridge with brass compensated saddles, this character-rich instrument arrives gig-ready in its fitted hardshell case.

Manufacturer's Description from John Page Guitars

Under John Page’s leadership, the Fender® Custom Shop created the Relic movement in the mid 1990s. In tribute to that legacy, John Page Signature Relics capture the magic of those originals. They are the are the only models we finish in nitrocellulose lacquer, and painstakingly age each one with absolute authenticity in mind. The result is a subtle tonal character distinct from poly finishes, a tonal and physical warmth, paired with a look that honors the past while carrying its story into the future.

About Manufacturer

"I have been designing and building guitars since the mid 1970's. Many of those years, 21 in fact, were spent at Fender Guitars... the first 9 as a Guitar Designer in Research & Development, and the last 12 as the co-founder and head of the Fender Custom Shop. During those years I worked with some incredible people and created guitars for some great artists. Artists like Eric Clapton, David Gilmour, Pete Townshend, Elliot Easton and Cesar Rosas, just to name a few. Now, for the first time, my custom designs are available as production models, hand-made in the USA by my team of expert builders, built to be heard and played for generations."
