When you first start to play this delicious Ruby Red Hamer Newport, you'll notice how comfortable and balanced it feels. Spend a little time with it and you'll feel like you're talking to an old friend. The vintage round neck and ebony fingerboard provide substance and speed with easy access to the upper registers. With a pair of Seymour Duncan Seth Lover pickups in the neck and bridge positions, this baby is capable of churning out soft and smooth or rude and rowdy at the flick of a switch. This is truly one of those guitars that that will make you wonder where it's been all of your life.
Condition: Light scratches on the back of the body, subtle play wear. Has been professionally setup by our luthier, Rob Sharer!

The original Newport is fitted with Phat Cat single coils which were the result of a collaboration with Seymour Duncan. Conceived as a crossover guitar in 1999, the spruce-topped Newport was the first guitar to receive a perfect score in a Guitar Player magazine review. Since then we’ve been busy configuring the Newport in different ways—adding binding, carved backs, custom inlays and experimenting with alternative pickup choices.
Shown here is a wonderful custom example. Notice how the highly figured top and layered binding contrasts against the stark ebony fingerboard with its single inlay signature.
