Guild has made a number of awesome guitars over the years and I've been fortunate to have been able to play a few of them, but this is the first time that I've had the pleasure of picking up the X-160 Rockabilly. I was instantly taken with its Tennesse Orange finish and flowing body contours, which combine to convey a sense of both classic design and free-spirited playfulness. Its pair of white DeArmond 2000 pickups deliver all of the snap and twang that you'd expect from a guitar with "rockabilly" in the title and the USA Bigsby tailpiece gives you even more expression in your playing. This X-160 is bad to the bone!
Guild is one of the world’s historic guitar manufacturers with a long-standing reputation for building iconic musical instruments. From the New York jazz scene in the 1950s, Richie Havens’ legendary performance at Woodstock, to Seattle’s Kim Thayil of Soundgarden, Guild guitars helped create some of the greatest music in history. With a tradition built on old world craftsmanship, quality and value, Guild guitars have always been made to be played.
