About Manufacturer

Rooted in the tradition of California’s guitar builders from a past generation, Grez Guitars builds R.C. Allen-designed archtops and unique semi-hollowbodies loosely influenced by P.A. Bigsby’s construction techniques as well as steel string flat top acoustics, solid body guitars and basses.  Each handcrafted guitar is a singular creation, combining a unique style and approach to voicing with each musician’s personal touches.

Although I take on entirely custom commissions, most of my builds are highly customized versions of my standard models. Every aspect of the guitar is discussed and built to your specifications from string spacing and wood choices to pickups and custom headstock inlays, making every guitar a one-of-a-kind.

I work with many wood species, but have a passion for Salvaged Old Growth Redwood. I'm always on the hunt for a few really good boards and depending on what I find, I resaw them into tops for acoustic guitars or semi-hollowbodies or leave them whole and make 1pc solid bodies.
