Gretsch signature snare drums reflect the spirit of the drummer after whom they are named. Each snare is designed to capture and express each artist's unique playing style, from perfectly placed backbeats to intricate sticking patterns. This particular model is named after the great Stephan Ferrone who has recorded and performed with many great talents including Eric Clapton, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Duran Duran, Chaka Khan, and more.
Marquee series Gretsch® Drums delivers explosive, open tones, professional features and rock solid performance at an accessible price. The redesigned Steve Ferrone Signatiure snare drum features a 14 x 6-1/2" beaded, seamless aluminum shell, 10 die-cast Gretsch tube lugs, 20-strand snare wires, Remo drumheads and signature Stephen Ferrone “Star” badge.
For 135 years, the Gretsch Drum Company has produced classic American instruments that drummers the world over covet. The signature “great Gretsch sound” has been utilized by numerous classic and modern drummers alike; Max Roach, Tony Williams, Cindy Blackman, Taylor Hawkins, and Vinnie Colaiuta are just a few examples of master drummers that have sat behind Gretsch kits. Currently, Gretsch’s three lines of professional-grade drums (the Brooklyn, Broadkaster, and USA Custom) are built by a small team of dedicated craftsmen in Ridgeland, South Carolina. Gretsch also offers a number of affordable import lines that allow beginner and intermediate drummers to be a part of drum history and play behind a Gretsch set.
