Sound Pure's Take

"As my father always said, never buy a car for cheap that you have to fix up yourself. Instead, get a good deal on a car the mechanic has already souped up himself." - Rob Sharer

If you're familiar with vintage Gretsch guitars, you should know the common iniquities found on their older instruments. They sound incredible...but frequently have strange structural issues that a discerning eye will be able to identify.

Not so with this one! Rob has put in a lot of work to make this guitar sound and play better than it did when it originally left the factory. This guitar has gone through every possible improvement to make it hold its own against any other hollowbody instrument of similar caliber: neck reset with complete neck joint rebuild (HUGE IMPROVEMENT), complete refret and board planing, binding stabilization, and one of Rob's masterful setups.

Tonally, it is everything you would expect from a Gretsch of this vintage. The original single coils have a gorgeous, open chime to them that really allow you to nail that George Harrison rhythm sound. Even acoustically, this guitar blooms with an airy brilliance and would feel right at home in an unplugged jam.

If you've ever bought or played a guitar from us, you're inevitably familiar with Rob's work and attention to detail. This is an incredible guitar and, for the work that's in it, it's better than any stock vintage Gretsch you'll find!

Oh, and the hula girl on the back is optional. ;)
