What We Think

It seems like every Goodall that comes in manages to quietly cast a spell on everyone who plays it--not so quietly in this case!  Warm tonality, huge presence and seductive playability all meet in this enchanting OOO.  It's certainly got a basis in the classic Martin OOO--those wizened, coveted features jump right out at you, herringbone and all.  12 frets to the body and an extended upper bout make for the deceptively huge sound that early 19th century 12 fret OOOs are known for.  But the subtle air of modernity evident in this piece gives it the voice that you'll have a hard time saying "no" to.  The Macassar ebony demonstrates some definite Rosewood-y qualities in the articulation and strength afforded to the upper and lower registers and in the beautiful organic bloom and decay of each note.  The master German spruce presents both fingerstylist and flatpicker with an intimate, direct response and just the right amount of midrange glow.  If you flipped that top over you'd see uniquely partially-scalloped bracing.  Worried about handling a period-piece baseball bat?  You'll be pleasantly surprised to grab hold of a non-traditional, slim, satin mahogany neck!  The wizards at Goodall have thought of everything and included only the best ideas in this guitar.  This a dream instrument for anyone--make it yours today!

Manufacturer's Description from Goodall

The Traditional OOO, 'A versatile 12 fret guitar with rich, full bass'!

The OOO is the newest guitar in the Traditional series of instruments. It features a neck joining the body at the twelfth fret. The OOO Goodall is in between the OM and Dreadnought in size. It's tone is very full and round in the bass and midrange with an emphasis on a broad warmth without lacking treble.

"Warm and rich with easy response describes the Traditional 000"

It is especially built for the fingerstyle player, but many folks like it for flat picking as well. The 000 can be ordered with either a solid or a slotted peghead.

The Traditional models all feature a custom, partially scalloped bracing pattern which produces a bit more 'boominess' in the bass and midrange. The peghead and bridge are designed for a more conservative look and Waverly tuning machines are a standard feature. It is nicely trimmed with a herringbone rosette and herringbone top purfling with a chevron marquetry back strip.
