It's remarkable just how much sweetness AND power James Goodall can coax into a guitar. This is a perfect example. The overtones bloom beautifully and the fundamental rolls like thunder through a canyon. It strikes a perfect balance between old and new. It has incredible balance and note definition with deep, warm bass that cradles the mids and highs, but doesn't overpower them. The wood grain in itself is a work of art. Stunning to the eyes and magical to the ears. Smooth and fast in the hands.

The Traditional OM, 'Also a flatpicker's delight!'
The OM is the second model in the Traditional series instruments. It features a smaller, more comfortable to hold body size than the popular dreadnought body shape. Its description is not unlike its bigger brother, the Traditional Dreadnought model.
"When we string up an OM it's hard to distinguish from the Traditional Dreadnought"
Its tone is extremely powerful in the bass and midrange with an emphasis on a broad warmth without lacking treble. The Traditional model features a custom, partial scalloped bracing pattern which produces a bit more 'boominess' in the bass and midrange. The peghead and bridge have been redesigned for a more conservative look and Waverly tuning machines are a standard feature. It is nicely trimmed with a herringbone rosette and herringbone top purfling with a chevron marquetry backstrip. It is especially built for the flatpicker and bluegrass style players.
James Goodall represents an artisan who is at the pinnacle of his profession. Superb craftsmanship, an exacting finesse for detail and wood choice, combined with robust, three dimensional sound character -- these are qualities which embody every James Goodall guitar.
Few who endeavor in musical instrument making are capable of consistently maintaining a high level of precision and excellence along with superior tonal character in every instrument. Discerning eyes and ears will find the substance of all these qualities in every James Goodall instrument.
