Sound Pure's Take

"Big" and "warm" are the first two words that come to mind. I LOVE these curves, too. It scoops the sound nicely, and the Koa brings it all back home to the sweet spot of the mid-range. The contrast between the Sitka and the Koa is earthy and inviting, and the rosewood neck and bridge give it the slightest touch of red. Top it all off with some tasteful abalone and you're in the Aloha zone. Having lived on the big Island, myself, I've observed where the best Koa goes. It's all about who you know.

From Goodall Guitars

The Aloha, a no compromise entry level Goodall!

Goodall Guitars has reintroduced the Aloha model because of popular demand. It now features a beautiful wood on the fretboard and bridge called Asian rosewood - an extremely hard and dense species of rosewood that is dark red brown in color with black streaks.

"a touch of Hawaii"

It comes in either koa or mahogany back and sides with a Sitka spruce top, pearl rosette and peghead logo, ebony binding, and chrome Gotoh machines. No compromises, just great looks, tone, and playability as always found in a Goodall guitar. Available in Grand Concert, Concert Jumbo and Standard sizes.

The Jumbo Series

Buckle your seat belt . . . this one is not for the faint of heart!

The Jumbo series is a true Jumbo sized guitar with a brilliance, balance and clarity that separates it from all the other Jumbos!

This instrument has a wonderfully musical, concert hall bass that can only be likened to a grand piano. But with all this bass there is still great focus, separation and sustain. It has, possibly, a bit more fullness and punch throughout the whole scale than the Standard -- a hard feat to achieve.

James has a special fondness toward the Jumbo series. This is not surprising since this is the guitar he first chose to build many years ago. The Jumbo can be used for vocal accompaniment, solo or even fingerstyle performing.

Goodall Jumbo series guitars are produced in five main styles:

  • Mahogany back and sides. Alaskan Sitka Spruce top. Rosewood or Curly Maple binding.
  • E.I. Rosewood back and sides. Alaskan Sitka Spruce top. Curly Koa or Rosewood binding.
  • Curly Koa back and sides. Alaskan Sitka Spruce top. Rosewood or Curly Maple binding.
  • Curly Maple back and sides. Alaskan Sitka Spruce top. Rosewood or Curly Koa binding.
  • Curly Walnut back and sides. Alaskan Sitka Spruce top. Curly Maple binding.

A wide variety of custom options are also available.
