The Songwriter Mahogany is crafted with premium tonewoods and vintage-certified details to make it a proud heir to this storied series. In addition to a solid Sitka spruce top with scalloped spruce braces in a 1930s “advanced-X" pattern, the Songwriter Mahogany has solid mahogany back and sides with a decorative marquetry strip inlaid in the back. Its one-piece mahogany neck has a rounded profile that is extremely comfortable in the hand, and an ebony fingerboard with mother-of-pearl dot inlays. The guitar's 25.5" scale length gives it a bold, deep voice and an extremely firm low end on par with the greatest dreadnoughts of old, perfect for booming out rhythm chords or projecting subtler fingerstyle performances. A 14th fret neck/body joint helps you reach those high notes with ease, and the traditional Gibson 12-inch fingerboard radius contributes to smooth fretting and easy bending. 

Performance ready, the Songwriter Mahogany comes equipped with a Fishman Ellipse Matrix Blend pickup system, perfect for running the full, accurate acoustic tone of this premium instrument to your amp or PA of choice.
