The J-45 is a classic guitar for the singer songwriter who wants a comfortable, powerful dreadnought with a bit more sweetness than you'd get out of a square shouldered dreadnought with the same tonewood options. This specific Elite Amberburst model is in great shape and plays and sounds like a dream! The short scale and comfort of the neck profile made this guitar practically play itself when strumming some chords and humming along in the showroom. The guitar comes with an Anthem pickup from LR Baggs preinstalled and is ready for the stage right now!
The J-45 is Gibson's best-selling acoustic of all time. Nicknamed "The Workhorse" and first introduced in 1942, this iconic acoustic has become the cornerstone of its round-shoulder, dreadnought line. World-renowned for its full, balanced expression, warm bass, and excellent projection, the 2016 J-45 has been refined to carry this legacy to new heights.
Today's Gibson electric guitars represent the history as well as the future of the electric guitar. The models whose designs have become classics-the ES-175, ES-335, Flying V, Explorer, Firebird, SGs and Les Pauls-are a testament to Gibson's wide appeal, spanning more than four decades of music styles. Gibson's close relationship with musicians is manifest in endorsement models from King, Atkins and jazz greats Howard Roberts and Herb Ellis, plus new Les Pauls made to the personal specifications of rock stars Jimmy Page and Joe Perry. In 1994, Gibson's Centennial year, the new Nighthawk model won an industry award for design, setting the stage for a second hundred years of Gibson quality and innovation.
