Sound Pure's Take
The Focusrite ISA 110 Limited Edition is one of those rare pieces that carries real lineage—and lives up to it.
Originally designed by Rupert Neve for George Martin’s AIR Studios, the ISA 110 isn’t just another channel strip—it’s part of the foundation of modern high-end recording. There’s a clarity and depth here that immediately feels “finished,” with a top end that’s open and detailed, and a low end that stays tight and controlled without ever getting muddy.
What makes the 110 special is how it balances precision with musicality. The transformer-based preamp delivers a clean, high-headroom signal, but it’s not sterile—there’s a subtle weight and dimension that helps sources sit naturally in a mix. Paired with the EQ section—broad, flexible, and incredibly usable—you can shape tone in a way that feels intentional without overworking it.
The EQ itself is a big part of the story. Between the shelving bands, parametric mids, and filters, it gives you a wide range of control, but always with a musical curve that’s hard to make sound bad. Whether you’re tracking vocals, dialing in guitars, or sculpting acoustic sources, it consistently delivers results that feel polished and “record-ready.”
There’s also something to be said for the build and design philosophy here. This is classic Focusrite—high-quality components, thoughtful engineering, and a signal path that prioritizes sound above all else.
For anyone looking for a channel strip that combines heritage, flexibility, and unmistakable analog depth, the ISA 110 Limited Edition is a true studio cornerstone. It’s the kind of piece you reach for when the source matters—and when you want it to sound right from the start.
