What We Think

This is a players piece that's been around the block and is chock full of some jazz box mojo. It's got some wear on it from a past life of gigs, but if you can look past some cosmetic wear - it's a beautiful piece. Warm and rounded with bold depth and crystal clear fundamental tones, this guitar is perfect accompanyment for the soloist or jazz enthusiast. Throw some flat wounds on this to darken and dampen up the midrange and you have one great sounding players piece.

Manufacturer's Description from Other

Jazz fans should check out the Indigogo campaign currently underway to raise funds to finish a new cd and DVD honoring jazz great and Epiphone signature artist Howard Roberts. SunnySide Outalready has the enthusiastic support of dozens of Howard’s friends and fellow musicians who worked with him in the studio and on stage.

If you think you don’t know Howard’s playing, take another guess. Roberts was seemingly everywhere in the 60’s with contributions to countless hit sessions for Harry Nilsson, Sam Cooke, and the Beach Boys as well as the soundtacks to Bullit, Kelly’s Heroes, and shows like Batman, Andy Griffith, and just about everything else on television. And if you are too young to remember watching those shows after school, pop on over to the TV Land channel where you'll discover 2 out of 3 shows feature Howard's playing in the opening credits.

“He was a first call studio player including Green Acres, the Addams Family (Neat!), the Brady Bunch as well as sessions for Frank Sinatra, Elvis, The Monkees, and Chet Atkins,” recalled his son and SunnySide Out's producer, Jay.

"SunnySide Out has been a dream of mine for years, to get musicians that my Dad worked with and make an album that reflects the high caliber standards that he always brought to a project.”
