Sound Pure's Take
If the woody, concentrated tone doesn't sing 'vintage' in your ear, the sheer presence of this thing will shout it. We live in an amped up world; it's easy to forget that archtops were orginally intended to punch through layers of rip and roar on the bandstand. Fortunately for all of us, Eastman has elected to create a history lesson that plays like recess. A slightly wider nut width and Rosewood fingerboard give you immediate access to the power vested in this hand-carved, wide-bouted beauty. This guitar wants, no, needs to be played! While this guitar sounds older than its years, every note you play on it comes out fuller and more vibrant than the last. From the most minimal comping to wide-open soloing, the rich and wizened response you get from this guitar will encourage you, maybe not so gently, to reach further and swing harder--don't be surprised if folks in the room do the same!
