What We Think

Over the years, the craftsmen at DW have created drums like no other company. They have seen and worked on a myriad of materials that is staggering. It was only a matter of time when they would land on something

Each shell is constructed from a single sheet of 1.5mm rolled stainless steel which the edges are folded over to create 45-degree bearing edges. The outside of each shell is buffed to a beautiful mirror finish and complemented with chrome hardware. DW even thought to craft the bass drum hoops in a similar fashion which ties the kit together to complete the package. In terms of tone, the kit is as loud and punchy as one might expect. The thin shells and folded bearing edges produce a quick attack and the DW AA 2-ply heads deliver a warmth in the decay.

A much lighter weight shell than its steel cousin, the Collector’s Stainless Steel is rolled from pure stainless and even has stainless steel True Pitch tension rods.

Already being used on tour by some of DW’s top artists and offered in a variety of sizes, the 1.5mm rolled shells with folded bearing edge can be complemented by any of five Custom Shop hardware colors. The drums come standard with Double A 2-ply DW Heads and boast big, round, resonant sound and a remarkably rich, warm tonal quality.
