What We Think
This DW Collectors maple drum set features a custom one of a kind Blue Sparkle Lacquer finish. Built in 1997, this is a player set but was kept in XL Specialty hardshell cases which are included with the sale. These drums come equipped with reinforcement rings to create a longer and slower sustain to its warm sound while creating the absolute best sound imaginable.
Purchased 1997 at Music Connection, the drums were sent to Ross Garfield at Drum Doctors in late 2009 to replace cracking wrap with customized lacquer based loosely on the discontinued Midnight Glass wrap. While at Drum Doctors, one of the production guys located actual wrap and re-wrapped without clearance from Ross or the owner. The wrap was removed from one drum and shell was badly damaged, so Ross was cleared to keep what was left of the kit and get new shells from DW. DW asked if the owner wanted to keep the original badges or have them make new ones; the owner asked to keep the originals and carry over the serial #s.
New DW shells were delivered in 2010 with custom finish, original badges. The mounting hardware on the 12 and 15 was updated and the 10 has the original mounting bracket. The chrome and finish are in excellent condition.
