Manufacturer's Description from Jim Dunlop

The Dunlop Stainless Steel Tonebars are made from high-quality stainless steel for exceptional tone and long life. Proudly crafted in the USA since 1968, they're highly polished to deliver crystal clear tone and glide smoothly along your strings.

Choosing the right tonebar length is about what feels good in your hand. For many players, the sweet spot is a tonebar that rests comfortably in the pocket between the thumb and index finger and reaches just slightly past the tip of the index finger. From there, it’s worth playing around with weight and size: heavier bars can beef up your sustain, while bars with a wider diameter will open up your vibrato.

Traditional sizes offer a solid starting point: 10-string steel players tend to go for 3-1/4” and 3-3/8” lengths, and 12-string players most often prefer 3-9/16" and 3-3/4” lengths. In recent years, 3-9/16” has proven to be a versatile, all-around choice for many steel guitar players. Our range offers each of these and more—including 7/8", 13/16", and 1” diameters—so that every player has a tonebar with the tone and feel to match their style.

Let your steel guitar sing with its truest voice—get a Dunlop Stainless Steel Tonebar.
