What We Think

Weight: 8.05 lbs.

WOW! A killer limited edition beauty from the folks at Duesenberg! A semi-hollow masterpiece that sounds as good as it looks. With the same pickup configuration as the Starplayer TV, there is plenty of versatility with this guitar, and an incredible tremolo system that will stay in tune and feels nice and smooth!

Manufacturer's Description from Duesenberg

Recognized as one of the world’s most influential bands in rock music, Grammy-winning multi-platinum selling band Soundgarden started a musical transformation that inspired a generation in its record-breaking career, leaving an indelible mark by helping redefine alternative and hard rock. From their early beginnings in the 1980s performing around Seattle Washington, Soundgarden was one of the most instrumental bands in the creation of grunge and alternative rock. Crossing generational lines, for millions of fans worldwide, Soundgarden created a voice for the youth around the world.

Duesenberg incorporated the history of Soundgarden throughout the guitar, encompassing the symbols of their legendary past by celebrating their mark in music. The graceful style of the Duesenberg Starplayer TV was the canvas in developing the »Alliance Series Soundgarden Black Hole Sun«. For this historic guitar, Duesenberg chose a Mother Of Pearl finish for its vision of the “Black Hole Sun”, as well as symbols from the Badmotorfinger album all the way through the song “Been Away Too Long”.

The guitar features a custom Duesenberg Diamond Deluxe Tremola with built in spark plug, as well as a spark plug inlay on the 12th fret, a custom decal between the pickups and unique volume and tone knobs. Additionally, there is also a 4-string bass version of the instrument.

The unveiling will occur at the Duesenberg USA booth 4878 at the 2016 Winter NAMM in Anaheim, California. This unique guitar will display all of the details, workmanship and sound for which Duesenberg is famous, as well as a number of features which are new to the Duesenberg tradition.

About Manufacturer

Duesenberg Guitars exploded on the scene a few years ago and have been turning heads ever since. These days everyone is playing a Duesey, from Mike Campbell to Bob Dylan to Ronnie Wood. The build quality and price-point are hard to argue with. Here at Sound Pure we always have a healthy stock of Duesenbergs and are happy to special order if our inventory does not suit your needs.

In a unique way Dieter Goelsdorf's Duesenberg design consolidates guitar construction, features and sounds which have written music history. The art deco style design of headstock, pickguard and metal components gives Duesenberg its own eye-catching look, while the body design bases on the old traditional Jazz guitars like being built from the 40s in Europe and in the USA. These design elements are combined with the best possible electric guitar construction values of the 50s: Grand Vintage Alnico pickups, classical Fender scale length plus a Gibson-like fingerboard radius. Most of the vintage-style tailpieces, bridges, tremolos, pickups and controls come with greatly improved details. The light weight plus comfortable position of controls of these stage and studio guitars provide a distinctive playing performance and handling for the most demanding player.
