What We Think

The tone is just stunning. So many adjectives come to mind. It's warm, soft, articulate, loud, dry, and sweet all at once.

Excellent craftsmanship. I once heard that the folks at Aria spent half the day sharpening their tools. Probably hyperbole, but some of these cuts really are the stuff of fine art. It's one thing to master a historic template, it's quite another to reinterpret the aesthetic entirely.

I love the sound holes. They look like leaves. The slotted headstock reduces mass and mirrors the holes. Same thing with the bridge. Speaking of the bridge, notice that thin piece sticking out the side of it? That's how you adjust the action. No metal involved. Better translation of vibration. SO COOL!

We've got flats on it right now and it plays like butter.

Manufacturer's Description from Other

Luthier James D’Aquisto was arguably the greatest archtop builder of all and the Solo model is one of the experimental designs representative of his final period. This is a very popular style although the 17 inch body and cutaway is a slight departure from the original design.
